ECA processing is taking forever — does my CRS profile stay valid while I wait?

I submitted my Educational Credential Assessment weeks ago and it's still processing. Can I create my Express Entry profile now or do I need to wait for the ECA to land?

You generally need the completed ECA report in hand before you can accurately enter your education in your Express Entry profile, since IRCC wants the ECA reference number — so most people wait for it before submitting the profile rather than submitting first and editing later. ECA turnaround is commonly in the 20-35 business day range depending on the assessing body (WES, IQAS, ICAS, ICES), so plan around that. /guides/pr/eca has the process breakdown.
