Family doctor waitlists — how long did it actually take you to get one after landing?

I keep hearing "it's hard to find a family doctor in Ontario" but want real numbers. How long from landing to actually having one?

    Took me almost 8 months in the GTA. In the meantime I used a walk-in clinic for anything urgent, not ideal but workable.

    Depends heavily on region, smaller Ontario towns outside the GTA tend to have shorter waits than downtown Toronto specifically. Worth checking your local Health Care Connect registry the day you land, not months later.
