Is the Atlantic Immigration Program a PNP or something separate?

sanju_devstudent
I see AIP listed next to the PNPs but people say it works differently. Is it a provincial nominee program or its own thing?

AIP is its own thing — a federal-provincial, employer-driven PR program (it became permanent in 2022) covering New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland & Labrador, run separately from each province's own PNP streams. The core requirement is a job offer from a designated employer in one of the four provinces, plus a provincial endorsement and a settlement plan. See /guides/pr/pnp/atlantic. General information from my own experience, not legal advice — for anything specific to your file, a licensed RCIC or immigration lawyer can look at your actual documents.
