Do I need a connection to Manitoba to apply to MPNP?

sanju_devstudent
I don't have family in Manitoba and I've never been there. Can I still apply to the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program?

Manitoba weighs a genuine connection heavily. For the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream you generally need an established connection — close family or friends in the province, prior work or study there, or a direct invitation through a Manitoba recruitment initiative — usually alongside a full-time job offer from a Manitoba employer. The Skilled Worker Overseas stream also expects a strong connection. With no ties at all, MPNP is a tough fit right now; a job offer from a Manitoba employer is the most concrete way to build one. See /guides/pr/pnp/manitoba. General information from my own experience, not legal advice — for anything specific to your file, a licensed RCIC or immigration lawyer can look at your actual documents.
