Workforce Priority stream — does a part-time or contract job offer count?

nurse_newcomer
A company wants to bring me on as a contractor, part-time to start, with a possible switch to full-time later. Does that qualify me for the new Ontario stream?

Not as described — the Workforce Priority stream needs a full-time, PERMANENT position from an Ontario employer, in writing and signed by both parties, specifying job title, duties, wage, and location. Contract roles, seasonal work, and part-time positions are explicitly excluded, so a "part-time now, maybe full-time later" offer would not qualify as-is. Go back to the employer and ask specifically for a full-time permanent offer letter that meets those conditions before you rely on it. General information from my own experience, not legal advice — for anything specific to your file, a licensed RCIC or immigration lawyer can look at your actual documents.
