Studying to PGWP to PR — is this still a realistic path in 2026 or has it gotten too hard?

I'm about to commit to a 2-year diploma in Ontario. With all the 2026 changes (lower PR targets, OINP redesign) is the study-to-PR pipeline still realistic, or should I look elsewhere?

It's harder than it was in 2022-2023 but not closed — PR admissions are being held around 380,000/year through 2028 with economic-class (which is where CEC/EE sits) actually growing as a share of the total. The honest read: a 2-year diploma plus a real PGWP-eligible field plus genuine Canadian work experience is still one of the more structured paths, it's just not automatic anymore.
