Choosing between two DLIs — how do I confirm a program is actually PGWP-eligible before I pay a deposit?

compguy_waterloo
Two schools are pitching me similar programs. One rep says "don't worry, all our programs qualify for PGWP" but I want to verify that myself before sending a deposit.

Never take a recruiter's word for this — it's your work permit on the line, not theirs. Confirm three things independently on canada.ca / IRCC's DLI list: (1) the school is on the designated learning institution list AND flagged as PGWP-eligible (not all DLIs are), (2) the specific program is at least 8 months, full-time, (3) if it's non-degree, the program's CIP code is on the eligible field-of-study list. See /guides/study/pgwp-eligible-dli for the exact process. General information from my own experience, not legal advice — for anything specific to your file, a licensed RCIC or immigration lawyer can look at your actual documents.
