Is AAIP first-come-first-served, or is it competitive?

If I meet the minimum requirements for an Alberta stream, am I basically guaranteed a nomination as long as I apply early enough?

Meeting the minimum doesn't guarantee a nomination — allocation is limited and, for the Express Entry stream, invitations are issued based on Alberta's priorities, so it's competitive rather than a pure first-come queue. Treat qualifying as the entry ticket, not the finish line, and keep your federal Express Entry options open as a backup.
