IRCC tightens language-test integrity checks

IRCC updated its operational guidance in June 2026 to help officers verify language test results and detect fraud or misrepresentation.

In June 2026, IRCC strengthened the integrity procedures around the language tests used across immigration applications, giving officers additional tools to verify results and flag potential fraud or misrepresentation.

For honest applicants this changes little, but it is a reminder that language results must be genuine and consistent with the rest of your file. A finding of misrepresentation can carry a multi-year ban — far more serious than a refusal.

Book your test through an official provider and keep your results consistent across every form.
