Understanding your BC PNP SIRS score

The BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) is British Columbia's route to permanent residence for skilled workers. To be considered, most applicants first submit a registration, which is scored out of 200 points by the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS). Periodically, BC PNP invites higher-scoring and strategically targeted registrants from the pool to submit a full application.

How the 200 points break down

The Skills Immigration streams

There are two active Skills Immigration streams, each with a Base and an Express Entry BC (EEBC) option:

• Skilled Worker — experienced managers, professionals, and skilled tradespeople with an eligible B.C. job offer in a NOC TEER 0–3 occupation and at least two years of skilled work experience.
• Health Authority — select health workers employed by (or supported by) a B.C. public health authority.

A temporary Rural/Remote Health Support initiative also exists for eligible cleaning and security workers at B.C. health authorities. The former International Graduate, International Post-Graduate, and Entry-Level & Semi-Skilled streams have closed.

Base vs. Express Entry BC (EEBC)

The EEBC option requires a valid federal Express Entry profile. A BC nomination through EEBC adds 600 CRS points to your Express Entry profile — effectively guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply — and routes you through faster Express Entry processing. The Base option is for candidates who are not in the Express Entry pool and apply to IRCC directly under the Provincial Nominee Class.
