Ontario closes all 8 OINP streams and launches Workforce Priority

On June 26, 2026 Ontario closed its eight existing OINP streams and introduced a new Workforce Priority stream that requires a job offer.

Ontario redesigned the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), closing all eight of its previous streams on June 26, 2026 and replacing them with a new Workforce Priority stream.

The new stream is built around a valid Ontario job offer, a significant shift for international graduates who previously relied on the Human Capital and Masters/PhD streams. If you were counting on a closed stream, the federal Express Entry and Canadian Experience Class routes may now be your most viable path.

Our OINP explainer breaks down exactly what changed and your realistic options now.
