What is the SINP?
The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) lets Saskatchewan nominate workers, international students, and entrepreneurs for Canadian permanent residence — either through its own Base streams or via the federal Express EntryExpress Entry: Canada's online pool-based system for three economic-class PR programs (CEC, FSW, FST). A provincial nomination adds +600 CRS points. pool (Enhanced stream).

2026 model: sector-based allocation
SINP restructured in 2026 around a sector-based allocation system. At least 50% of the 4,761 nominations are reserved for priority sectors; the remaining share is distributed across capped sectors subject to intake windows.
Priority sectors — continuous intake
Candidates in priority sectors may apply at any time and are not limited by work-permit expiry timelines. They can apply from within or outside Canada.
Priority sectors include:
- Healthcare
- Agriculture
- Skilled trades
- Mining
- Manufacturing
- Energy and technology
Capped sectors — intake windows only
Candidates in capped sectors must apply during designated windows. No more than 25% of the total nominations can go to all capped sectors combined.
Capped sectors: Accommodation & food services, retail trade, trucking

Draw status (2026)
⚠️ Regular SINP EOIEOI: Expression of Interest — a pre-application profile submitted to SINP's pool. Saskatchewan periodically selects candidates from the EOI pool based on factors including occupation, work experience, and connection to Saskatchewan. draws have been paused since September 12, 2024. No resumption date has been announced as of June 2026. Check the official site for current status.
Priority sector candidates benefit from continuous intake (no draw required for some categories). Confirm which pathway applies to you.
Saskatchewan Express Entry (SEE) — Enhanced stream
The Saskatchewan Express Entry (SEE) stream is SINP's Enhanced pathway — it is Express Entry–linked, meaning a SINP nomination through SEE adds +600 CRS points to your federal profile.
Key features:
- No job offer required (unlike most Base streams)
- Must have work experience in a set of in-demand Saskatchewan occupations
- Must have an active Express Entry profile in the federal pool
- Connection to Saskatchewan strengthens your EOI score
A SINP SEE nomination → federal ITA at next draw → submit PR application to IRCC.
International Skilled Worker (ISW) streams
For workers outside the Express Entry pool, SINP offers the International Skilled Worker category with multiple sub-streams:
- Occupation In-Demand — for workers with experience in targeted Saskatchewan occupations (no job offer needed for some)
- Saskatchewan Employment Offer — requires a valid, full-time, permanent job offer from a Saskatchewan employer
- International Education — for international graduates from Saskatchewan post-secondary institutions
⚠️ The EOI draw pause (since September 2024) affects these streams. Confirm current intake status on the official SINP site.
Entrepreneur and Farm categories
SINP also has pathways for:
- Entrepreneur category — for those starting or buying businesses in Saskatchewan
- Farm category — for experienced farmers who purchase and operate a farm in Saskatchewan
How to apply
- Check your occupation against SINP's in-demand occupation lists and determine whether your sector is priority or capped.
- Create an EOI in the SINP Online portal.
- Receive a notification if selected in a draw (or through continuous intake for priority sectors).
- Apply for nomination within the deadline.
- Receive nomination and link to your Express Entry profile (SEE) or apply directly to IRCC for PR (Base streams).

Does the SINP require a job offer?
It depends on the stream. The SEE and Occupation In-Demand pathways do not require a job offer if you have experience in a targeted Saskatchewan occupation; the Saskatchewan Employment Offer sub-stream does require one.
Are SINP draws currently open?
SINP paused its regular Expression of Interest draws in September 2024, while priority-sector intake has operated on a different basis. Draw status changes over time — always confirm the current position on the official Saskatchewan SINP site before relying on any timeline.
