What is the YNP?
The Yukon Nominee Program (YNP) lets the territory of Yukon nominate foreign workers for Canadian permanent residence to fill jobs local employers can't staff with Canadian citizens or permanent residents. It is an employer-driven program: the process starts with a Yukon employer and a job offer, and the employer submits the application — you cannot apply on your own behalf.
A Yukon nomination through the Express Entry stream adds +600 CRS points to your federal Express EntryExpress Entry: Canada's online system for the three federal economic PR programs (CEC, FSW, FST), ranked by CRS score. profile — effectively guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply at the next federal draw.

2026 streams
The YNP's worker pathways are organised by the NOC TEERNOC TEER: National Occupational Classification's skill tiers. TEER 0–3 = professional/technical/skilled; TEER 4–5 = intermediate and entry-level. level of the job:
1. Skilled Worker Stream
For professional, technical, and supervisory roles (NOC TEER 0–3). Requires a full-time, permanent job offer from an eligible Yukon employer.
2. Critical Impact Worker Stream
For entry-level and semi-skilled positions (NOC TEER 4–5) that are critical to a Yukon employer's operations. Requires a job offer and typically some connection to Yukon.
3. Yukon Express Entry Stream (Enhanced — Express Entry linked)
For candidates who already have an active Express Entry profile and a TEER 0–3 job offer in Yukon. The worker must qualify for at least one federal Express Entry program. A nomination here adds +600 CRS points.
Business Nominee
Yukon also runs a separate Business Nominee pathway for entrepreneurs who invest in and actively manage a Yukon business. It has its own net-worth, investment, and business-plan requirements — confirm current criteria on yukon.ca.
Employer requirements
Because the YNP is employer-driven, the Yukon employer must generally:
- Show they could not find a qualified Canadian citizen or permanent resident — typically by advertising the position within Canada for at least 4 weeks before applying,
- Offer full-time, permanent work at prevailing wages, and
- Submit the YNP application on the worker's behalf.
2026 intake windows
⚠️ In 2026 the YNP has used limited application windows rather than continuous intake. Reported 2026 windows have included January 19–30 and July 6–17 (Yukon Standard Time). Windows and dates change — always confirm the current intake status and dates on the official Yukon Nominee Program page before your employer applies.
